About The Project
Michigan State University is in the early stages of reimaging and redeveloping the Spartan Village property. Partnering with MSU, the MSU Foundation will develop a 62,500 square-foot office building in the south portion of Spartan Village, starting in the early Summer of 2021. The new office building will be located on approximately five acres of land at the corner of S. Crescent and Harrison Road. Construction is expected to begin June 1, 2021, extending to June 2022 for project completion.
May 2021 - July 2021
Early site work - grading, utilities, paving.
June 2021 - December 2021
Foundations, steel, enclosure.
Top course asphalt/striping.

Campus hours, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
When will construction commence and end?
Anticipated June 2021 - June 2022.

Approximately 63,000 square feet, two-story building sitting on approximately five acres.
Will any remaining Spartan Village buildings be demolished for this office building project?
There are no demolition initiatives anticipated for this office building project. For the long-term viability of the Spartan Village redevelopment project, MSU senior leadership continually evaluate the operation of remaining facilities.
What impact will the office building project have on traffic?
Very limited impact. North entrance will always be available for Spartan Village access. There are no planned road closures at this time and if anything changes, we will be sure to update the public on this page with additional details.
Will construction impact the bus route?
We anticipate that the bus stop on South Crescent Road will remain in place, with additional stops potentially added as demand dictates.
What impact will the office building project have on tenants of Spartan Village?
The construction may produce some additional noise, dust, traffic, and vibration during active hours.
What kind of traffic impact will there be once the office building project is complete?
The existing infrastructure can handle the volume of additional visitors/employees.
Will the new building be for single or multi-tenant use?
This is set to be a single-tenant office building.
