MSU Research Foundation to Host National Insights into Research Parks (I2RP) Conference

The MSU Research Foundation will host the 2024 AURP Insights into Research Parks conference, offering a platform for attendees to share developments and opportunities within research park ecosystems across North America, while highlighting the research parks at Michigan State University and the Greater Lansing region.

EAST LANSING, MI — The Michigan State University Research Foundation will host the Association of University Research Parks (AURP) Insights into Research Parks (I2RP) conference on May 8-9, 2024.

The national event offers attendees a platform to explore and discuss the latest developments, challenges, and opportunities in research park ecosystems across North America. Programming is focused on providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of ongoing developments, programs, and best practices for research parks.

“We’re thrilled to host I2RP this year along with Michigan State University,” said Jeff Smith, Director of Research Parks at the MSU Research Foundation. “The event embodies our commitment to sharing knowledge with our peers, fostering collaboration, and learning from one another.”

I2RP will include a tour of the Michigan State University Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB), roundtable discussions on applied research with Fraunhofer, and panel discussions on designing tomorrow’s workplaces. Attendees will also tour innovative spaces in and around Michigan State University and East Lansing, including the STEM Teaching & Learning Facility at MSU, Fraunhofer USA Center for Coatings and Diamond Technologies, TechSmith Corporation headquarters, and VanCamp Incubator.

“This is a great opportunity to share the innovation and progress happening here at Michigan State University and throughout the Greater Lansing Region” said Dan Bollman, Vice President of Infrastructure and Planning at Michigan State University. “We’re also excited to learn new ideas from those attending.”

The conference will begin with dinner at The Jolly Pumpkin in East Lansing, hosted by the MSU Research Foundation, providing participants with an opportunity for networking within the local ecosystem. Registration for I2RP is now open at aurp.net/insights-into-research-parks.
